Ljpp MCC 03RG20 DVD-R PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111 (firmware 1.29) 16x LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1653S 4x http://www.philips.com While Philips is a true consumer electronics giant, and plays key roles in the optical recording industry, they have relied on many different manufacturers for their DVD recordable media. This small sample batch contained discs with a Mitsubishi Chemicals / Verbatim Media Identifier (MID). The tests show these discs behaving almost as expected. There are some spikes in the graphs, but these are most likely caused by dust or scratches as the test batch we received was opened and removed from the spindle, so we can most likely ignore the spikes. The PIE graph also shows signs of a rapid increase at the outer rim of the disc. So not a flawless result, but still good - more testing is needed to make further conclusions how this compares to Verbatim and others using MCC dye/MID.
