AM3 Media type: DVD-R Scanning drive: LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1653S Selected scan speed: 4x Manufacturer website: http://www.ridisc.com User comment: The Lite-ON SOHW-1653 is not one of the newest drives there, and they have ceased updating the firmware some time ago. It seems that the firmware is not tuned for the 16x CMC Magnetics media, as the drive has chosen a 8x recording speed. That doesn't have a too negative impact on the quality, which seems to be quite decent. The PIE is a bit higher than we like, but not bad and the PIF remains very low without any spikes. A decent effort. Pure data:
